Canandaigua Knights
offers a house hockey program for players from the ages of 5 to 18
years old. House hockey offers the player a competitive learning
program in a fun atmosphere. Emphasis is placed on sportsmanship,
improvement and most of all fun. Games for house hockey are played
in Canandaigua as well as Perinton, Geneseo, Brockport, Batavia and
Rochester. The number of games played depends on the age level.
Teams are formed at the beginning of the season and players are
evaluated prior to team placement. This evaluation allows your
player to be placed on the team they will be best suited for. "B"
level teams are more for learning and "A" level teams have a higher
level of competition. Remember, your player is placed on the team
best suited for them. Players considering joining a house team must
be able to skate forward and be able to stop. During player
evaluations, The Knights reserves the right to ask any child who
does not meet these skating requirements to join our initiation program,
this is for the safety of the child as well as other players.
Our levels of play are: Mite A and B, Squirt A and B, Pee Wee A and
B, Bantam A and B and Midget.
Please review the guide book currently listed on the Manager's page
for additional details on the levels of play.

Canandaigua Knights started offering
travel hockey on the Pee Wee Level in 1999. Bantam Travel was added for
the 2001/2002 season. We offer a Tier III program. We feel that travel
hockey offers the players additional growth and development.
As a member of the Western New York Travel program, we play mostly in
Western New York (Buffalo, Batavia, Geneseo, Brockport, Jamestown) and
Pennsylvania (Erie).
Parents and players on a travel team are expected to participate on at a
higher level of commitment than they would be if on a House Team.
Players are expected to attend all scheduled practices, scrimmages and
games, hockey should be their main focus. Please take this into
consideration when deciding if your child should play house or travel.
Commitment is KEY!
Each team may also decide to have additional practices, non-league games
and at least 3 to 4 tournaments. Each team decides how many additional
games, tournaments and practices they will participate in. The cost of
these activities is not included in our program cost and will be at the
team's expense.
